There are a lot of times when we see “for sale” written by items been sold. Such items are also openly displayed to attract buyers. Do you know that some breast are now for sale in the market, streets, clubs etc where one can go, examine and buy his choice?. And some men actually go for shopping?
The female breast as you know is part of the female “private parts” which means that part belongs to only that person. Have we ever asked ourselves why the eyes, nose, ears and mouth were placed on the face where it will be exposed but the breast was placed at a part where it can be covered?.
Probably because the eyes is for seeing and you may fall when is covered, the nose is for smelling and breathing, covering it will cause us to suffocate, the ears cannot hear when is covered or blocked likewise you can’t put food in the mouth if is covered. The breast is placed at a part where it will be accessible to that person alone (woman), to the person’s husband during marriage and the baby.
Since the Bible makes is clear that the husband and the wife become one body (1: Husband+1: Wife=1 Body). Therefore both the wife and the husband after marriage have control over each other’s body.
This is found in 1 Corinthians 7:4 which says “the wife hath not power over her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power over his own body, but the wife”. And finally the baby also gains access to the breast during breastfeeding.
Let’s take this scenario: What are the two main parts of the body a lady will cover when a man mistakenly enters her room whilst naked? I guess it is the vulva and the breast. But some women don’t mind exposing their breast anymore.

It is stipulated in the Bible that Adam and Eve hid after the fall when God was approaching because they saw that they were naked. Why are some women of today unashamed of their dressing? They will rather tell you “I am aware”?. Have we forgotten we are God’s Temple and the spirit of God dwells in us? Have we forgotten we were bought at a price? As recorded in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
Some even try to dress well when going to church because they know God is in that place but we forgot that the Bible says our bodies are also his temple and therefore what we put in it and on it should be to the glorification of God.
These are some observations on women fashion:
• Some cover the breast half way (Ajar)
• Others buy brassieres that will push their breast out for exhibition.
• Some women go to the extent of smearing creams at the exposed part to make it shinier and attract people’s attention.
• Others will wear something that will cover the whole breast but their clothes will be so revealing that the breast could be visualized through it.
• And most at times some of these women who wear such clothes are celebrities and hence is leading most of the young girls’ today astray to also dress such way.
Again, most women after given birth do not see the need to cover their breast when breastfeeding, and there are instances where most women expose the whole breast in market places, buses and other public places during breastfeeding.
To solve this issue, women can move to private places to breastfeed in order to prevent exposure of the breast. Moreover, special clothing’s can be made to create a zip opening at the breast area to make it easier to breast babies in public. During breastfeeding, at public places the part of the breast that does not go into the baby’s mouth can still be covered since is only the areola (The darkest area around the nipple) and the nipple that goes into the mouth.
This breast exposure is a problem in the villages even with mothers who are not breastfeeding since they just leave it uncovered ones it falls and is no more standing and don’t care whether people are around. I guess some of these issues if addressed well can solve some of the marital problems to some extent.
Some mothers even wear some of these clothes expecting their children to dress properly. The bible says we should train children on the way they should go so that when they grow they will not depart from it. Mothers can achieve this by doing daily bible studies with their children, teaching them dressing according to the bible, praying with them and for them always. This will help them dress properly and not to be exposing their breast as they grow especially at puberty. Remember if we fail to do it friends and other people will teach them the wrong away.
Social vices like rape, fornication, adulatory, is on the increased because of some of these issues and the level could have been reduced if addressed properly. Some Christians and non-Christians sin by watching the exposed part of women with their eyes and lusting in their hearts which is rebuked in Matthew 5:28 “But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart”. So women lets dress properly and men lets beware of what we watch with our eyes.
Breast not for sale; rotten cultures and loose values in our society today are our woes. For we are challenged by Ellen G. White in her book Education page 57 “The greatest want of the world is the want of men – men who will not be bought or sold; men who in their inmost souls are true and honest; men who do not fear to call sin by its right name; men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole; men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall”.
